Villa Amalfi 7

Jumeirah Bay is an island of narrow plots and tall ambitions. Villa Amalfi 7 sits on one of them — a long, slender footprint that had to hold a formal reception sequence, a family floor, three bedroom suites, service quarters and a roof terrace without ever feeling like a corridor.

The plan does the heavy lifting. Every floor was drawn, dimensioned and furnished before a single surface was chosen: circulation pinned to one edge, rooms opened to the light on the other, and a stair that reads as an object rather than an obstacle. The layouts published here are the working drawings, not illustrations after the fact.

Material restraint holds the four levels together. Pale oak, warm limestone and hand-finished plaster carry the length of the house; a single band of blackened metal traces the ceilings and joinery, giving each room the same quiet spine. Where the villa opens outward — the front yard, the backyard, the balconies, the terrace — planting and shade structures were designed as rooms in their own right.

The result is a house that behaves like a much larger one: generous where it receives guests, close and warm where the family actually lives.
