Founded by Nida Fatima in 2024, Aarasta Interior & Architecture Design is a creative interior design studio based in Lucknow, India, dedicated to transforming spaces into functional, elegant, and inspiring environments. We believe every space has a story, and our mission is to bring that story to life through thoughtful design, innovation, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Craft

Lucknow is a city of hands

Wood inlay, hand-blocked linen, lime plaster laid by someone who has laid a thousand walls — these are not decorative references for us. They are live trades, in the city where the studio is based, and they are one reason our work does not look like the work of a studio that only specifies from catalogues.

The intent is never folklore. Indian craft enters our projects the way any good material does: because it is the right answer to the room, at the right scale, made by people we can call.

Vision & Mission

Responsible is not the opposite of beautiful

Aarasta was founded on a straightforward conviction: that eco-conscious design and elegant design are the same project, and that the interiors worth making are the ones that will still be worth keeping in thirty years.

Natural and renewable first: Timber, stone, lime plaster, wool, linen, cane. Materials chosen because they age well, can be repaired, and were not shipped across the world to sit in a room they don't suit.
Planned, not padded: The most sustainable square metre is the one you didn't need to build. Efficient planning does more for a project's footprint than any single specification decision.
Built to outlast the trend: Timelessness is a practical goal, not a romantic one. An interior that doesn't need replacing in six years has already justified the care that went into it.
Healthy to live inside: Daylight, ventilation, low-emission finishes and acoustic comfort — the parts of a room you feel rather than see, and the reason a space is restful.
