The kitchen opens directly onto the dining and living space, which meant it had to be detailed as furniture rather than as equipment. Handleless fronts, a stone island with a mitred edge, and appliances either integrated or deliberately exposed as objects.

Planting is part of the design, not styling. The island sits under a run of hanging greenery that softens the hard reflective surfaces and gives the room something alive at eye level.
