Frond D — Villa D98

A landscape scheme for the front approach of a villa on Frond D. The site gives you two things to work with — a long reflecting pool and a wall of mature palms — and the design leans on both rather than competing with them.

Layered planting steps the eye from kerb to threshold: clipped hedging at the boundary, sculptural specimens mid-ground, then soft ground cover pressed right up to the water. A burnt-terracotta plane at the entrance is the single warm note in an otherwise white and green composition, and it does all the wayfinding the façade needs.

Each view was rendered twice — daylight and night — because the lighting scheme is half the design. After dark the planting is grazed from below, the pool reads as a lit plane, and the shade structures become silhouettes.
