Dubai Downtown

Downtown Dubai demands interiors that hold their own against the skyline. This apartment does it with restraint: a tonal palette of warm stone, soft plaster and dark timber lets the glazing do the talking, while every piece of furniture is set back far enough from the glass to let the view land.

The living space is planned as a single open volume with a low credenza dividing lounge from dining, so the eye runs from one end to the other without interruption. Lighting is layered — cove, pendant and table lamp — so the room reads differently at midday and midnight.

Materiality is deliberately quiet. Where a lesser scheme would compete with the Burj Khalifa outside the window, this one defers to it.
