Aravalli Residence

The clients wanted one room to carry the whole house: somewhere to receive guests, watch a film and sit together on an ordinary evening. Rather than split it into zones, we gave it a single strong centre — a low indigo sectional deep enough to actually lie on — and let everything else recede.

Marble runs behind the seating and returns onto the media wall, lit from a concealed cove so the veining reads at night. Brass inlay lines the panelling at a hairline scale; it catches the lamplight and disappears in daylight.

The palette is unusually confident for a room this size. Indigo, bone, marble and brass, and nothing else — which is why the room feels calm rather than busy.
