Entrances are usually what's left over once the rooms are planned. Here it was designed first. A fluted screen filters the view into the house, a run of pendants marks the turn, and planting softens the point where hard floor meets threshold.

The one piece of furniture is a carved hardwood bench in a traditional profile, deliberately left as the only ornamented object in an otherwise plain space. It carries the reference so nothing else has to.
