The brief asked for a spa that felt found rather than built — as if the hammam, the plunge pool and the treatment room had always been there, worn smooth by water. Every wall is hand-textured lime plaster, ribbed and arched rather than flat, so the light moves across it the way it moves across rock.

Two circular pools anchor the plan: a warm soaking pool under a domed skylight, and a cold plunge set into raw stone at the far end of the sequence. Between them, a run of low daybeds and backlit stone shelving turns the corridor into a room in its own right rather than a passage.

Candlelight does the work electric light usually does here. Recessed fixtures are used only where safety requires them; everywhere else, the scheme relies on flame, water reflection and the deep warmth of the plaster itself.
